- Then make sure that your com software has the correct settings. Also
- verify that the phone cable & line is good. DON'T JUST ASSUME this!

- FOr starters, just have the modem dial it's own line. If you hear it
- pick up, dial, & get the busy signal - you're 99% there!

- If the modem is 14.4 or faster, you may have to add a serial port with a
- 16550A UART or the equivalent in order to get the best speed.
